Tracing the origins of the Coppola clan. The Family Whistle premieres at Cannes Classic Film Festival.
Film maker Michele Russo discovers he is a distant relative of the Coppolas from the small town of Bernalda, Italy and goes about an eight year odyssey of reconstructing the family tree. The story begins with Agostino Coppola 1882 and travels through time with interviews of uncles, brothers, sisters bringing us up to the present day families, all creative as ever. Jim, together with help from Sam Lehmer help put together a sound track and mix. The head of Cannes Classics said the sound was one of the best he’d ever heard for a documentary – – he said “it was flawless”
