Dallas VideoFest 26 premieres Venice Underwater by renowned film and media artist Chip Lord. This is a beautifully shot observational documentary depicting a not so beautiful phenomenon. As the seas rise, this city goes underwater during the Winter months. In true Chip Load style, we see candid images of tourists, garbage collectors and the ritual procession Venetians have been making to Santa Maria del Saluti since 1643, marking the end of the plague. Earwax Productions edited, mixed and help create a fantasy score from street musicans singing opera in the allys and canals ways of the city. 2013 marks the twenty-fourth year of working with Chip staring with his Motorist in 1989.
