NEW YORK, NEW YORK
Spanning more than 100 years in photography, MoMA’s new exhibition ‘Our Selves’ explores the link between photography, feminism, civil rights, Indigenous sovereignty, and queer liberation.
Emma was brought on to compose the music based on the photographs to pair with the audio guides.
“The best part about this task was creating a link between the music and the art, for example, in Amanda Ross-Ho’s Invisible Ink, she sewed her art onto soft fabric. In order to replicate this in the music, I used instruments with felt treatment to create the same muffled ‘felt’ sound.”
The exhibition includes work by Susan Meiselas, Catherine Opie, Cara Romero, Carrie Mae Weems, and many others.
